(22 October 2024. Makati City, Philippines) – On Tuesday, business owners and decision makers from companies gearing up for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) gathered at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Headquarters in Makati for this year’s Road to IPO forum. The forum, hosted by the Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE), aimed to equip companies that plan to go public with the knowledge on what this move entails complemented by valuable insights from firms that have had successful IPOs.

Among the publicly-listed companies featured in the event was GT Capital Holdings, Inc. (GT Capital), represented by its Senior Vice President and Investor Relations Head Mr. Jose B. Crisol, Jr. who was a panel member at a session entitled "Igniting Investor Interest: Crafting a Compelling Narrative for Your Company." The panel discussion explored communication strategies for investor engagement – a crucial aspect in the conglomerate’s own IPO journey.

During the discussion, Mr. Crisol noted that the narrative put forth by companies in their respective IPOs must not be stagnant overtime. He said that to be able to continue to build investors’ confidence, companies must make sure that their stories evolve, hence the conglomerate’s priming for a “GT Capital 2.0,” which heralds a new decade for the holdings company as a publicly listed-firm – marked by potential expansions beyond its current business portfolio.

Apart from this, Mr. Crisol also emphasized the importance of building trust and commitment among businesses’ managers, stakeholders, and partners to ensure sustainable growth in the long-term. “The IPO is just the first step of a long journey. It’s really the commitment, the trustworthiness, the track record [that are important]… You would want to do business with someone you trust; so it’s really that kind of relationship that you want to build that will make you an ideal IPO company, ” Mr. Crisol said.

Other notable speakers at the forum were PSE President and CEO Ramon Monzon, SEC Markets and Securities Regulation Department Director Oliver Leonardo, and Philequity Management Inc. Vice President Miguel Agarao.

PSE hosted this year’s The Road to IPO forum in partnership with the SEC. The event was co-hosted by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office through MOBILIST.
